Cora Hays is a watercolor and digital artist with training in scientific and biological illustration.
She illustrates children’s books and educational materials such as school curriculum, textbooks, and field guides. She paints murals in her neighborhood and assists with projects that create community engagement with the arts and nature. She also works as a book cover and board game artist and designs the occasional logo.
She is actively seeking representation by a literary agent or publisher and contract clients with projects aimed at young readers, families, or teachers that educate about nature, agriculture, science, art, or culture. She’s also interested in fiction projects with cottage core or fantasy themes. Her rates are on a sliding scale so please include an estimate of your budget for project inquiries.
She is not interested in projects that center romance, hard sci fi, or politics.
She lives in Minnesota with her primary encourager, their young sons , and an ever-incresing flock of backyard chickens. She loves growing things, exploring lake shores, streams, and mud puddles, and creating opportunities to foster new friendships.
